The Lemos family has been involved in shipping since the turn of the last century and Panagos is a seasoned shipping executive with over 45 years of experience in the industry.
His career started as an apprentice learning the business from the ground up serving on board a family-owned vessel.
In 1991, he established LPL Shipping S.Α, a Piraeus based ship management company, to manage his family interests in shipping where he was involved in all aspects of Technical Management, Ship Financing, Chartering, Operations, Insurance, Cargo Claims and Charter Claims.
In 1994 LPL Shipping S.Α set up a JV with Acomarit Services Maritimes, a Swiss ship management company based in Geneva. The company grew from five vessels under management in 1994 to over 20 vessels within 3 years, providing everything from crewing to full technical and commercial management services.
The business was later sold to V Ships. In 1999 Panagos was involved in a JV team and successfully placed an order at a Japanese yard for a series of 3x Supramax vessels, which were delivered in 2002 and successfully traded until they were sold in 2015.
LPL Shipping S.A continues to act as a separate ship management and investment company, and Panagos acts as an advisor on all aspects of shipping as well as managing investments in shipping on behalf of family and clients.
